Rehabilitation Officer – Enfield Council, North London

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Rehabilitation Officer to join the Enfield Council Social Services team in North London. This locum role focuses on supporting individuals with visual impairments and dual sensory loss, empowering them to live independently and confidently within their community.  

You’ll work as part of a committed sensory impairment service, delivering personalised rehabilitation programmes that promote independence, dignity, and inclusion. Key Responsibilities

•  
• Deliver comprehensive rehabilitation services to adults with visual impairments and dual sensory loss.
   

• Provide orientation and mobility training to enable safe and independent navigation within different environments.
   

• Deliver daily living skills and communication training to promote confidence, self-reliance, and community participation.
   

• Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated support for service users.
   

• Develop your skills and knowledge in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals as part of a broader sensory service.
   

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Enfield Council’s sensory impairment service through joint working and team participation.

Requirements

•  
• Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies or equivalent qualification.
   

• Proven experience in providing services for people with visual impairments or dual sensory loss.
   

• Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with sensory impairments and a commitment to promoting independence and equality.
   

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
   

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently when required.

Contract & Salary

• Position: Locum Rehabilitation Officer
   

• Employer: Enfield Council, North London
   

• Pay rate: £26.38 per hour
   

• Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30)
   

• Contract length: Ongoing
