Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (Nottingham City Council)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **Nottingham City Council Children’s Services team**. This role is focused on safeguarding children, supporting families, and delivering high-quality interventions that promote safety, wellbeing, and positive long-term outcomes.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload, undertake statutory assessments, and work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to ensure the best possible support.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify needs, risks, and strengths.
Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans that place children at the centre of decision-making.
Manage safeguarding and child protection cases in line with statutory responsibilities.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings.
Work directly with children, young people, and families to build positive, supportive relationships.
Collaborate with schools, health services, police, and voluntary organisations to deliver coordinated, multi-agency support.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records in line with legislation and Nottingham City Council policies.
Participate in reflective supervision, team learning, and continuous service improvement.
About You
You are a motivated and resilient social worker with post-qualification experience in children’s services. You are confident in managing safeguarding practice, working with complex cases, and committed to ensuring positive outcomes for children and families.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience within Children’s Services, including safeguarding and child protection.
Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload effectively.
