Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (Achieving for Children)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **Achieving for Children Children’s Services team**. This role is focused on safeguarding children, supporting families, and delivering high-quality social work interventions that improve safety, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes.

As a Qualified Social Worker, you will hold a varied caseload, undertake statutory assessments, and work in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to ensure children are supported and protected.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risks, strengths, and needs.

Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans that are child-centred and outcome-focused.

Manage safeguarding and child protection cases in line with statutory responsibilities.

Prepare and present evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.

Work directly with children, families, and carers to build strong, supportive relationships.

Collaborate with schools, health professionals, police, and voluntary sector organisations to deliver coordinated support.

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records in line with legislation and Achieving for Children policies.

Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and service development initiatives.

About You

You are a motivated and resilient social worker with post-qualification experience in children’s services. You are confident in managing safeguarding and child protection cases and committed to making a difference to the lives of children and families.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Experience working in Children’s Services, including safeguarding and child protection.

Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload effectively.
