Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (Achieving for Children)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Achieving for Children’s Children’s Services team**. This role focuses on safeguarding children, supporting families, and delivering effective interventions that promote safety, wellbeing, and long-term positive outcomes.

You will manage a diverse caseload, complete statutory assessments, and work closely with children, families, and multi-agency partners to ensure the best outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify needs, risks, and strengths.

Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans tailored to children and families.

Manage safeguarding and child protection cases in line with statutory requirements.

Prepare and present evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.

Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and carers.

Work collaboratively with schools, health services, police, and voluntary organisations to provide joined-up support.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with legislation and organisational policies.

Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and continuous service improvement.

About You

You are a resilient and motivated social worker with post-qualification experience in children’s services. You are confident in safeguarding practice, able to manage complex cases, and committed to improving outcomes for children and families.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Experience in Children’s Services, including safeguarding and child protection.

Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.

Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage a varied and demanding caseload effectively.
