Job Overview
We are recruiting an **Experienced Social Worker (Qualified Social Worker – QSW)** to join **Worcestershire County Council**. This role involves working with adults, children, and families to safeguard vulnerable individuals, promote independence, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support.
As an experienced practitioner, you will manage complex caseloads, provide professional expertise, and work closely with multi-agency partners to deliver safe and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments in line with the Care Act 2014 and Children Act 1989/2004.
Develop, implement, and review care and support plans that are outcome-focused and tailored to individual needs.
Manage safeguarding cases, ensuring that risks are identified and appropriate interventions put in place.
Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions where required.
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings.
Work directly with service users, families, and carers to build positive, trusting relationships.
Collaborate with schools, health services, housing, and voluntary sector partners to provide integrated support.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with legislation and council policies.
Contribute to reflective supervision, team learning, and continuous service improvement.
About You
You are a resilient and motivated social worker with substantial post-qualification experience. You are confident in managing complex safeguarding cases, working in partnership with others, and ensuring the best outcomes for service users.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Proven post-qualification experience within statutory social work, either in children’s or adults’ services.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload effectively.
