Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Brent Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Brent Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role focuses on safeguarding vulnerable adults, promoting independence, and ensuring individuals receive high-quality, person-centred care and support.

You will carry out statutory assessments, manage a varied caseload, and work in partnership with individuals, families, carers, and other professionals to deliver safe and effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.

Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.

Lead safeguarding enquiries and manage risk effectively.

Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.

Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.

Work collaboratively with health, housing, voluntary, and community partners to deliver integrated care.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with legislation and council policy.

Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and continuous service development.

About You

You are a motivated and resilient social worker with a strong background in adults’ services. You are confident in safeguarding practice, skilled in managing complex cases, and committed to delivering positive, person-centred outcomes.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Post-qualification experience within statutory Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex casework.

Sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to balance a demanding caseload while maintaining a focus on high-quality outcomes.
