Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Brent Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Brent Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role is focused on supporting adults with a wide range of care and support needs, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and promoting independence and wellbeing.

You will carry out statutory assessments, manage a complex caseload, and work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and partner agencies to deliver safe and effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.

Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.

Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure robust risk management processes.

Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.

Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.

Work in partnership with health services, housing, voluntary organisations, and community providers to deliver coordinated care.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with council policies and professional standards.

Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and service development initiatives.

About You

You are a compassionate and resilient social worker with experience in adults’ services. You are confident in safeguarding practice, managing complex cases, and delivering high-quality, person-centred outcomes.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Post-qualification experience within statutory Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.

Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.

Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining a person-centred approach.
