Manchester City Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to join its dynamic community team. The role focuses on supporting adults to live independently and safely at home through functional assessments, housing solutions, and the provision of equipment and adaptations. The post holder will also contribute to Best Interest Assessments (BIA), ensuring decisions are person-centred and in line with legal frameworks.
Carry out holistic assessments in the community to identify needs and promote independence.
Recommend and facilitate appropriate equipment and home adaptations to improve safety and accessibility.
Provide professional input into housing-related assessments, including rehousing and property suitability.
Participate in Best Interest Assessments (BIA), ensuring compliance with the Mental Capacity Act.
Collaborate with service users, carers, housing officers, and health and social care professionals.
Maintain accurate, timely case records and reports in line with council and professional standards.
