We are looking for a qualified and experienced Lead Occupational Therapist to join Newham Council’s Occupational Therapy team. This role focuses on equipment and adaptations within a community setting, supporting residents to maintain independence and improve quality of life. As an OT-only service, you will be part of a dedicated and skilled team, taking a leadership role in clinical practice, service improvement, and supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community-based OT and experience in delivering and managing complex adaptations and equipment provision.
Lead the clinical delivery of occupational therapy services focused on equipment and housing adaptations
Provide expert assessments and recommendations to support independence and reduce risks in the home
Supervise and mentor a team of Occupational Therapists, supporting their professional development
Work collaboratively with housing, social care, and health partners to deliver integrated support
Contribute to service planning, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards, and council policies
