We are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join Wirral Council’s Children’s Services team on a locum basis. This 3-month role focuses on safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring the welfare of young people in line with statutory responsibilities. The successful candidate will be experienced in carrying out assessments, managing complex caseloads, and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families in line with statutory frameworks.
Manage a varied caseload, including complex and high-risk cases, ensuring timely interventions.
Develop and implement care plans that promote the safety, stability, and well-being of children.
Work closely with partner agencies, including health, education, and the police, to deliver coordinated support.
Prepare clear and accurate reports for court proceedings and attend hearings as required.
Monitor and review care plans, making adjustments to meet changing needs and circumstances.
