Job Overview
Croydon Health Services NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Integrated Neurology Team on a locum basis. This role offers a diverse and rewarding opportunity to provide specialist rehabilitation for patients with stroke and acute neurological conditions across hospital and community settings.
You’ll work collaboratively with patients to help them regain independence and achieve their rehabilitation goals, contributing to high-quality neurological care across the Trust. This post is ideal for an experienced therapist looking to build on their clinical expertise in stroke and neurorehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
– Deliver specialist neurological rehabilitation for patients with a range of stroke and neurological conditions.
– Complete comprehensive assessments of functional ability, mobility, and daily living activities.
– Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation plans.
– Support patients in hospital, community, and home environments, promoting independence and recovery.
– Work as an autonomous practitioner while receiving supervision and clinical support from a Band 7 Occupational Therapist.
– Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic care.
– Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS and professional standards.
About You
You’ll be a proactive and compassionate Occupational Therapist with proven experience in stroke and acute neurorehabilitation. You’ll demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
– Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification)
– HCPC registration (essential)
– Demonstrable experience in stroke and acute neurological rehabilitation (essential)
– Strong assessment, treatment planning, and clinical reasoning skills
– Ability to work flexibly across hospital and community settings
– Excellent interpersonal and documentation skills
– A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care
