  • Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989 and 2004 on behalf of Bedford Council, identifying risk, need, and protective factors to inform timely intervention.

  • Manage a caseload of children and families across early help, child in need, child protection, and looked-after pathways, ensuring all work is child-focused and outcome-driven.

  • Develop and implement care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals, ensuring the voice of the child is central to all planning and decision-making.

  • Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for court proceedings, child protection conferences, looked-after reviews, and statutory meetings in accordance with legal and local requirements.

  • Respond to safeguarding concerns, participate in strategy discussions and Section 47 enquiries, and take appropriate actions to ensure the safety and welfare of children.

  • Engage in reflective supervision and ongoing professional development, contributing to a learning culture and continuous service improvement within Bedford Council.
