Key Responsibilities:
Join Newcastle City Council to lead and conduct complex statutory assessments for children and families, ensuring compliance with legislation such as the Children Act 1989/2004.
Develop, implement, and review child-centred care and protection plans within Newcastle City Council’s framework, promoting safety, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
Manage a complex caseload while providing guidance, support, and informal supervision to junior social workers and trainees in Newcastle City Council’s children’s services team.
Take a lead role in safeguarding processes for Newcastle City Council, including attending strategy meetings, child protection conferences, and court proceedings.
Collaborate with multi-agency partners (health, education, police, and others) to ensure coordinated and effective support for children at risk as part of Newcastle City Council’s integrated approach.
Maintain accurate, timely case records and reports in accordance with Social Work England standards and Newcastle City Council’s policies.
