Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist – Team Lead – Band 7 Area: East London NHS Salary: £negotiable Job Type: Locum Contract length: Ongoing Job details: Senior Occupational Therapist required to act as a team lead in Trauma & Orthopaedics therapy team to cover vacancy. Key responsibilities are:
Co-lead and manage the T&O therapy team alongside the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Peer Band 7 Physiotherapist.
Manage, support and supervise OT staff and support workers.
Independently manage a complex clinical caseload.
Assess and treat patients with complex, acute, or chronic conditions.
Deliver evidence-based OT interventions to improve function and post op delirium.
Plan and coordinate safe, effective discharge pathways for complex cases.
Use advanced clinical reasoning for personalised care plans.
Educate patients, carers, and professionals on OT practices.
Provide specialist advice and act as a clinical OT resource.
Manage challenging conversations with patients, their family members and staff behaviours.
Support junior therapists across all OT domains.
Apply expert knowledge, especially in #NOF fractures and major trauma guidelines
