The London Borough of Redbridge Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join its community-based team supporting adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities. This rewarding role focuses on promoting independence, recovery, and inclusion, through meaningful occupational engagement within a multi-agency framework. You’ll be part of a dedicated service that aims to enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of vulnerable adults across the borough.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out comprehensive, person-centred occupational therapy assessments for adults with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities living in the community.

  • Develop and implement goal-oriented intervention plans to support daily living, social participation, and recovery-focused outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with individuals, families, support providers, and multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure joined-up care and support.

  • Assess functional needs and provide recommendations around daily living skills, environmental adaptations, and equipment where appropriate.

  • Contribute to care planning processes, including reviews, risk assessments, and safeguarding where required.

  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and support service improvement through audits, supervision, and reflective practice.
