The London Borough of Redbridge Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join its community-based team supporting adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities. This rewarding role focuses on promoting independence, recovery, and inclusion, through meaningful occupational engagement within a multi-agency framework. You’ll be part of a dedicated service that aims to enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of vulnerable adults across the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out comprehensive, person-centred occupational therapy assessments for adults with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities living in the community.
Develop and implement goal-oriented intervention plans to support daily living, social participation, and recovery-focused outcomes.
Work collaboratively with individuals, families, support providers, and multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure joined-up care and support.
Assess functional needs and provide recommendations around daily living skills, environmental adaptations, and equipment where appropriate.
Contribute to care planning processes, including reviews, risk assessments, and safeguarding where required.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and support service improvement through audits, supervision, and reflective practice.
