Locum ABE Qualified Social Worker

The London Borough of Bexley is committed to delivering excellent safeguarding services that place the voice and safety of the child at the centre of practice. We are currently seeking a trained Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with ABE (Achieving Best Evidence) accreditation to join our specialist team. This role involves undertaking joint investigations with police and conducting ABE interviews in line with national guidance to support criminal and safeguarding proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct ABE interviews: Work alongside police colleagues to carry out sensitive and legally compliant interviews with children in suspected abuse cases.

Lead or contribute to joint investigations: Undertake Section 47 enquiries and gather evidence to inform risk assessments and safety planning.

Safeguard and support children: Ensure the child’s welfare is prioritised throughout investigations, with appropriate follow-up actions and support services in place.

Maintain accurate records and reports: Produce high-quality written documentation for use in child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings.
