Locum Referral and Assessment Qualified Social Worker

Lambeth Council’s Children’s Services are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Referral and Assessment Social Worker to join our front door team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for children and families requiring support, responsible for carrying out assessments to identify needs, risks, and strengths to ensure timely and appropriate intervention.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage referrals effectively: Receive and triage new referrals, making informed decisions about next steps and required interventions.

Conduct comprehensive assessments: Undertake child and family assessments to identify safeguarding concerns and needs in line with statutory frameworks.

Develop and implement care plans: Work with families and partner agencies to develop effective plans that address identified risks and promote child welfare.

Collaborate with multi-agency teams: Liaise with health, education, police, and voluntary sector partners to ensure coordinated responses and effective safeguarding.
