If you are concerned about a child’s safety in Hull, the Hull City Council provides a structured process for child protection assessments. Here are the key steps:
Reporting Concerns: If you believe a child is at risk, you can report your concerns through the Hull City Council’s online portal or by contacting the Early Help and Safeguarding Hub (EHASH) directly
Initial Review: Qualified social work staff within EHASH will review the information provided and check existing records. They may make further inquiries if necessary
Risk Assessment: Within one working day, a decision will be made regarding the level of risk and the appropriate service to help or protect the child
Multi-Agency Collaboration: The assessment process involves collaboration with various agencies to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the child’s situation and to coordinate support efforts
Follow-Up Actions: Based on the assessment, appropriate actions will be taken, which may include providing support services, initiating protective measures, or involving law enforcement if immediate danger is identified
