Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced and committed Locum Social Worker to join its Child Protection Team. This crucial role involves safeguarding children at risk, undertaking timely assessments, and working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to reduce risk and promote child welfare. The ideal candidate will have strong statutory social work experience, be resilient, and able to manage a demanding caseload effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out statutory Child Protection assessments and investigations under the Children Act 1989.
Identify, assess, and manage risks to children, developing safety and intervention plans.
Work closely with children, families, schools, and multi-agency partners to ensure coordinated safeguarding responses.
Prepare detailed reports for child protection conferences, case reviews, and court proceedings.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate case records in line with Leicestershire County Council policies and statutory requirements.
