West Berkshire Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Adolescent Social Worker to join our Adolescent & Edge of Care Team. This role focuses on working with young people aged 11–18 who are at risk of exploitation, family breakdown, or becoming looked after. You will play a key part in safeguarding vulnerable adolescents and supporting their transition to adulthood through targeted interventions and multi-agency collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with adolescents and their families to assess risk, develop care and intervention plans, and prevent escalation into care or custody.
Address complex issues such as criminal exploitation, missing episodes, substance misuse, and mental health through trauma-informed practice.
Collaborate with education, youth justice, health, and community partners to deliver integrated, youth-centred support.
Maintain detailed and timely case records, ensuring compliance with West Berkshire Council’s safeguarding policies and statutory frameworks.
