Plymouth City Council is seeking an experienced and committed Locum Social Worker to join our Children in Need (CIN) Team. In this vital role, you will work with children, young people, and families to assess need, reduce risk, and support positive outcomes. This is a dynamic and fast-paced team, ideal for practitioners who thrive under pressure and are confident in managing complex caseloads with a child-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake Child and Family Assessments under Section 17 and, where necessary, Section 47 of the Children Act 1989.
Develop and implement clear, outcome-focused CIN and CP plans in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals.
Monitor and review progress, identifying and responding to changes in risk or need in a timely and effective manner.
Prepare reports for Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Reviews, and court proceedings as required.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements and Plymouth City Council procedures.
