Theatre Nurse – All Specialisations (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery & More) – Bristol

Position: Theatre Nurse (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery & Circulating)

Location: Bristol

Pay Rates:

• Weekday: £26 per hour
• Nights & Saturdays: £32 per hour
• Sundays & Bank Holidays: £40 per hour

Contract Length: Full-time, minimum 3 months (with potential extension)

Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced Theatre Nurses to join a dynamic surgical team in Bristol. Whether you specialise in Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery (PACU), Circulating, or Surgical First Assistance, we have a role for you. This position is ideal for nurses with a strong theatre background looking for a challenging and rewarding placement in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

? Assist in surgical procedures by preparing and handing over instruments to surgeons (Scrub Nurse).
? Provide pre-operative and post-operative anaesthetic support, ensuring patient safety (Anaesthetic Nurse).
? Monitor patients’ recovery from anaesthesia, assessing pain levels and vital signs (Recovery Nurse).
? Ensure a sterile and safe theatre environment, checking equipment and supplies (Circulating Nurse).
? Work alongside the surgical team, assisting with retracting, suturing, and tissue handling (Surgical First Assistant).
? Adhere to strict infection control protocols, minimising risks for both patients and staff.
? Collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons, and theatre staff to ensure smooth surgical operations.

Requirements:

? Valid NMC Registration
? Minimum 12 months experience working in a theatre setting (NHS or private)
? Competency in at least one of the following: Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating, or First Assistance
? Strong understanding of infection control and surgical safety protocols
? Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
