Theatre Nurse – Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery & More – Salisbury

Position: Theatre Nurse (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating)

Location: Salisbury

Pay Rates:

  • Weekday: £26 per hour
  • Nights & Saturdays: £32 per hour
  • Sundays & Bank Holidays: £40 per hour

Contract Length: Full-time, minimum 3 months (potential for extension)


Job Overview:

We are actively recruiting skilled Theatre Nurses in Salisbury to join a highly experienced perioperative team. This role is ideal for nurses with expertise in Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating, or Surgical First Assistance. You will be working in a dynamic operating theatre, covering a variety of surgical disciplines including orthopaedics, general surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, and vascular procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

? Scrub Nurse – Prepare and provide instruments during surgery while maintaining aseptic technique.
? Anaesthetic Nurse – Assist with pre-op assessments, anaesthetic administration, and airway management.
? Recovery Nurse – Oversee post-op patient care, monitor vitals, and manage pain relief.
? Circulating Nurse – Manage surgical equipment, assist with patient positioning, and maintain theatre safety.
? Surgical First Assistant – Provide direct surgical support to the consultant, assisting with exposure and suturing.
? Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
? Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and theatre best practices.


Requirements:

? Active NMC Registration (or HCPC for ODPs)
? At least 1 year of experience in a theatre setting
? Competency in at least one of the following areas: Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating, or First Assistance
? Strong understanding of infection control, surgical safety protocols, and patient monitoring
? Ability to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends
