Theatre Nurse – Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery & More – Weston-super-Mare

Position: Theatre Nurse (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating)

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Pay Rates:

  • Weekday: £26 per hour
  • Nights & Saturdays: £32 per hour
  • Sundays & Bank Holidays: £40 per hour

Contract Length: Full-time, minimum 3 months (potential for extension)


Job Overview:

We are looking for experienced Theatre Nurses to join a leading surgical team in Weston-super-Mare. Whether you specialise in Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Circulating, or Surgical First Assistance, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-quality perioperative care.

You will play a crucial role in various surgical procedures, including orthopaedics, urology, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, and gynaecology. The position requires attention to detail, quick decision-making, and strong teamwork to ensure smooth theatre operations.


Key Responsibilities:

? Scrub Nurse – Assist surgeons by preparing and handling instruments while maintaining a sterile field.
? Anaesthetic Nurse – Provide patient support pre, during, and post-anaesthesia while assisting anaesthetists.
? Recovery Nurse – Ensure safe post-operative patient care, monitoring pain management and vital signs.
? Circulating Nurse – Manage surgical equipment, ensure compliance with sterile procedures, and support the surgical team.
? Surgical First Assistant – Assist surgeons directly with tissue handling, exposure, and wound closure.
? Uphold infection prevention protocols and best practices in perioperative nursing.
? Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs, and multidisciplinary teams.


Requirements:

? NMC Registration (or HCPC for ODPs)
? Minimum 1 year of experience in a Theatre Nurse role (Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery, or Circulating)
? Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control, and patient safety protocols
? Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
? Excellent communication and teamwork skills
