Band 6 ADHD Nurse – Kent CYPMHS

Location: Broadstairs, Kent
Pay Rate: £26.50 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Length: 3 months


Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced ADHD Nurse to join the Kent CYPMHS Thanet team. The ideal candidate will help manage and monitor ADHD cases, supporting the current team with a substantial caseload while ensuring all targets are met. This role involves both clinical assessments and collaboration with other professionals and schools.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and review ADHD cases in line with clinical standards.
  • Support the current ADHD team in managing a large caseload and conducting assessments for young people.
  • Perform physical health checks to monitor medication effects and communicate findings with prescribing doctors.
  • Liaise effectively with other healthcare professionals, schools, and external agencies involved in the child’s care.
  • Assist in meeting team targets for case reviews and management.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement appropriate management plans.
  • Attend face-to-face appointments at the clinic in Thanet as required.

Requirements:

  • NMC-registered Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Previous experience working in an ADHD clinic or similar service.
  • Proficiency in completing assessments, maintaining clear communication, and managing IT systems.
  • Strong risk assessment and management skills.
  • Ability to travel to Thanet and work face-to-face during standard clinic hours (9 AM – 5 PM).

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience collaborating with educational institutions and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage high caseloads efficiently while maintaining quality care standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
