To provide a high-quality Occupational Therapy service to a specialist neurology caseload on a general neurology ward and on cardiac wards (neuro caseload). Depending on the individuals skill set some work may include treating patients on critical care and high dependency units (General ICU and Cardiothoracic ICU).
To provide Occupational Therapy and take a lead role in the assessment, treatment and discharge planning of patients with a range of highly complex physical, cognitive, psycho-social and emotional needs including terminal diagnosis.
To apply a client-centred approach and current evidence-base to assess, treat patients and implement, evaluate and document occupational therapy interventions.
To be responsible for own clinical workload within a defined area and accountable for own professional actions.
To assist junior staff in the management of complex cases requiring advanced clinical reasoning.
