About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Services team at Reading Council. This ongoing locum position focuses on delivering high-quality occupational therapy support to adults, promoting independence and wellbeing through practical interventions.
Main Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of adults requiring occupational therapy input, carrying out comprehensive functional assessments.
- Recommend and facilitate major and minor adaptations to enhance clients’ ability to live safely and independently at home.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to service users, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in line with professional and service standards.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives within Adult Social Care.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with adults, particularly within local authority or community settings.
- Proven ability to assess for and implement both major and minor home adaptations.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
