Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Band 5/6 Area: West Riding Yorkshire NHS Salary: £negotiable Job Type: Locum Contract length: Ongoing Job details: To start asap for 3 months. Extension possible, depends on needs of the service and development of the OT role. Commencement of new OT pilot within the team. Providing a new service to ED and acute admission wards. Band 6 ideally but will consider 5 with ample experience. Skills/experience:
Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by UK College of Occupational Therapists.
Experience working in acute and community setting.
State Registration with Health & Care Professions Council for Occupational Therapy.
3 years minimum experience
Good clinical reasoning skills
Very good knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, cognitive and perceptual functions
Ability to use a wide range of assessment and treatment techniques.
Committed to life-long learning and continued professional development through post graduate education.
Ability to prioritise one's own workload and that of others.
Ability to problem solve.
Ability to use initiative.
Demonstrate the ability to work as a key member of a team.
Sound knowledge of assessment/provision of relevant equipment - including onward training as required.
Sound understanding and application of the Discharge process.
Desirable skills: Computer skills using software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to supervise and support Discharge Facilitators and lower band staff.
Positive approach to data collection and audit- in relation to OT pilot information gathering.
