Job details:  Children’s Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy service. To start asap. To provide acute and community occupational therapy services to children and young people resident in the borough of Bexley, in line with current health, education and social care policies, and with the national service framework for children. Services will be provided across health, education and social care settings including seeing children in their own home, school and on discharge from hospital aiming to maximise the potential of children with a wide range of disabilities through the development of comprehensive care plans. To delegate work to assistant staff, within the Paediatric Occupational Therapy team. There may be an option to have a more focused caseload if candidates have a specific clinical speciality. JD available on request. Working hours:  5 days per week, days can be agreed with the candidate. 08.30 – 16.30 or 09.00 – 17.00.

Job Title:  Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist – Band 7

1. To assess, diagnose, treat, and manage highly specialist caseload children 0-19 years presenting with a variety of neurodevelopmental, movement disorders and/or complex disability and maintain associated records as a highly specialist member of the children’s therapy team.
2. To train and support carers of clients and participate in appropriate specialist training to other colleagues.
3. To advise and provide clinical support to other therapists/staff on physical therapy issues.
4. To supervise the work of more junior therapists, assistants, technical instructors, students and other staff working with the post holder.
5. To provide highly specialist intervention and evaluate outcomes.
6. To contribute to the leadership of the Swale therapy team. To advise the Children’s Therapy Managers, assisting in developing a high-quality service to children. To liaise with other agencies, helping improve the quality-of-care journey for the children.
